DIRECTOR
Romolo Martemucci

Romolo Martemucci has professional interests in urban design, institutional architecture, and the architecture of the public realm. Teaching since 1977, his academic and research interests include architectural theory, representation and meaning in architecture, urban design, materials and materiality, the human body as paradigm, Renaissance planning and town design, the work of Biagio Rossetti and the city of Ferrara, Italy.

Prior to becoming the co-founder and Director of the Pantheon Institute. Mr. Martemucci was Professor of Architecture at the Penn State University and Director of their  "Sede di Roma" from 1990-2009 as well as the interim department head of Architecture at Penn State University from 1995-1997. He was also the creator of the La Magia Institute in Rome which offered special courses in architecture and landscape architecture, and co-founder and director of the Accademia Adrianea, which currently offers a unique Italian-accredited Masters degree in Museografia, Architettura e Archeologia. 

Professor Martemucci has presented numerous papers, and his articles have been published in Urban Design Magazine and in the Association of Collegiate Schools of Archtecture publications. He has lectured and/or taught at Univ. of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Univ. of Minnesota, R.P.I., Pratt Institute, Iowa State, Ohio State, Notre Dame University, and North Dakota State Universities along with Univ. of Puerto Rico, Università "La Sapienza" and "Roma Tre" in Rome,  and the Univ. of Monterrey, in Monterrey, Mexico.

Maria Patti

Maria has been working for over twenty years in the financial-administrative branch of various Italian companies and American institutions. In 1999 she joined PSU Study Abroad Program in Rome, where, as Administrative Coordinator, she developed experience and expertise in financial management and cost control, budgeting, accounting reporting, legal affairs, employment contracts, etc. In addition, she holds a “Diploma di Perito per il Turismo” and has also worked as Field Trip Coordinator for the Rome Study Abroad Program.



BUSINESS OFFICE ASSISTANT
Laura Cecere

Laura received her Laurea in Communications from the Universita' degli Studi di Urbino, followed by studies in graphic arts and design. After a number of years in the travel industry and working as a translator for RAI, she joined the PSU study abroad program as an administrative assistant and coordinator for academic field trips and excursions which she continues to do today with the Pantheon Institute.



BUSINESS OFFICE ASSISTANT
Alessandra Faggioni

Alessandra worked as a professional interpreter (Russian/Italian/English) for over 10 years before joining the Penn State University study abroad program in 2001, and continuing her collaboration in study abroad with Pantheon Institute. Her interests include massage and aroma therapy, alternative medicine, gardening and travel.

Jesse Smeal, M.A.

Jesse was a study abroad student in Rome in 1999. And he enjoyed his experience so much that decided to stay in complete his university education in Italy and now holds a Masters degree in Government and Politics from St. John\'s University in Rome, and a BA from John Cabot University. He brings a wealth of experience to the Pantheon Institute having lived in Rome since 1999, and having worked exclusively with American study abroad programs in Rome since 2005.
 


COORDINATOR FOR STUDENT LIFE AND SERVICES
Linda Usai

Linda Usai is a native and resident of Rome. She holds a diploma in Spanish and English Interpreting and Translation and a Laurea in Spanish and English language and literature from the University of Milan. She worked as a secretary, interpreter and translator for many companies (including the Italian Broadcasting Corporation during the World Football Championship) and also as a tour leader for American groups. She brings a wealth of experience to the Pantheon Institute having worked for the Penn State study abroad program in Rome since 1994. She inspires students to explore the local culture having traveled extensively, exploring Europe, Africa, Asia and the States.


FACILITIES MAINTENANCE & IT TECHNICAL SUPPORT OFFICER

Marco has been working with study abroad programs in Rome since 2005 in the areas of administrative assistance and IT technical support which he continues to perform at the Pantheon Institute as well as providing facilities maintenance and repair.



UNIVERSITY OUTREACH AND AFFILIATE RELATIONS
Mark Shreve, B.A.

Mark Shreve has been working in international education in Italy since 2005. Since his graduation from Wabash College, he has worked in various facets of higher education administration. He lives Cinncinati, spending much of his time in Italy, and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in International Business.
