Semester Programs

Because our students come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines, the Pantheon Institute offers three distinct academic tracks:

THE ARCHITECTURE + LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM

THE GENERAL STUDIES PROGRAM

Each semester we offer a selection of courses that put Rome at the forefront. On-site learning plays a fundamental part in our curriculum. Whether it’s a trip to one of Rome’s many art museums, an architectural trek through the Roman Forum, or a day spent perusing volumes in the Vatican Library, students at the Pantheon Institute interact daily with the city’s pervasive legacy. By encountering different aspects of the Roman experience, students gain boundless benefits from the unending volume treasures that abound throughout the city.

Courses at the Pantheon Institute are taught in the American liberal arts tradition and follow a semester calendar with a 15-week fall session, a 15-week spring session. Most students attend the Institute for one semester, but year-long study is also available. With the exception of Italian language courses, all instruction is in English. No prior study of Italian is required, but all students must enroll in an Italian course at their appropriate level as a part of their study at the Institute. Fall and spring students enroll for 13-16 credits, including a 4-credit Italian language course. Part-time study is not permitted during the semester.

Summer Programs

The Pantheon Institute also offers an exciting roster of 7-week Summer Programs.

SUMMER SESSIONS

Students may choose to participate fully in the curricular concentration programs listed below, or create their own program from our summer offerings. With the exception of Architectural Engineering, all courses may be taken individually. For the summer session, students may enroll in 3-12 credits, and Italian language courses are not required.
