Benvenuti! Now that you’ve been accepted to the Pantheon Institute, you’ve probably already started preparations for your departure, both mentally and otherwise. Going abroad is a big step and certain aspects may seem overwhelming - that's where we can help.
You probably have already secured your passport, and if not you should do so immediately. For you semester and all-year students, you will also be applying for a study visa at the local Italian Consulate with the acceptance letters supplied. And at one point or another you will all be purchasing that usually non-refundable plane ticket that really seals the deal. Beyond all those obvious procedures, which our admissions team will assist you with from start to finish, the Pantheon Institute asked that you do just a bit more, OK a lot more, to prepare yourself for what many describe as the most rewarding experience of their college/university career.
In this portion of the website you’ll find some practical information to help you thoroughly prepare for your exciting experience in Rome. Therefore we ask all students who have been accepted to:
Read and follow the advice outlined in the Pre-Departure Handbook
If you have been accepted to the program and sent the required deposit, we ask that you read carefully and fully the Pre-Departure Handbook. It will be sent via email to all accepted students a few months prior to the start of the term. If you have not already received it via email, you may download it
here. Please contact us at
info@pantheon-institute.com for a username and password to access the download page.
The Pre-Departure Handbook contains nearly all the information and suggestions you need to prepare yourself for your study abroad experience including helpful hints on making a budget (an absolute must do) and advice on what to pack, when to travel, etc. Suffice it to say we ask that you follow the advice and procedures outlines in the handbook.
Check the CalendarCheck the calendar in the pre-departure handbook for key dates such as arrival, departure, mid-terms, semester break, final exams, etc. You can also access the
Academic Calendar online. Please ask all friends and relatives to visit during the mid-semester break if they intend to visit significantly longer than a weekend. See the
Visting Rome link for additional tips.
Download and Print the Parents GuidePlease make certain that your parents or relatives have read and retained a copy of the
Parent's Guide prior to your departure.
Coming Soon! You can also direct them to the
Information for Parents section of the website.
Register for the Optional TripsIf you would like to participate in the optional weekend trips, we ask that you register in advance to assist us in making commitments which are required well in advance of the trip. This helps prevent sell-outs and ensures your space on the trip. Most trips fill-up completely each semester. For more information, check out the
Optional Trips.
Ask Us and Others! It is not at all unusual for students to have many questions and concerns not addressed in the handbook. We encourage you, as well as your parents and relatives, to contact us with any questions, and speak to students who have studied in Rome to get a first hand account of the experience and what to expect.
