Teaching Philosophy:

Notions are important but process is essential. Searching for the sense of things informs each aspect of architectural research – especially in its everlasting relationship with historical, cultural and geographical context.

What Students Need to Bring to the Study Abroad Experience:

Might sound strange but their “unfamiliarity” with the eternal city will be their best companion throughout their stay in Rome – helping them observe the city with the proper and necessary distance of a scholar and a professional, searching for respectful and yet innovative solutions to architectural and urban dilemmas of one of the most ancient cities in the world. By the way, since you are coming, don’t forget to bring your unquestionable passion for architecture and urban design.

Favorite Teaching Moment(s):

desk crits…obviously, and “out of the record” debates.
