Teaching Philosophy

Andrew J. Kranis is a LEED-accredited architect from New York City and the principal of Andrew Kranis Architecture and Environmental Design. As a sole practitioner, consulting designer for Whole Foods Market and a veteran of several New York firms, he has realized designs for retail, hospitality, cultural institutions and residences, as well as building and masonry conservation. He teaches and practices with a particular emphasis on the intersection of urbanism, ecology and conservation, using Rome as a laboratory for exploring the role of architecture within a deep and broad urban fabric.
